Real Community. Real Care. Real Home.
Life at Front Porch of Bowdon
The Environment
A Different Kind of Dementia Care Environment
Most dementia care units feel like dementia care units. Institutional hallways. Identical doors. Nothing that signals home or neighborhood or place.
We are in the middle of converting our main hallway into a village-style residential streetscape. Brick-patterned flooring. Distinct house facades on each resident room door in different colors, different styles, and different details. A porch area. Sitting spaces that feel like the kind of place you might actually want to sit.
For residents with dementia, the physical environment is not decoration. It is part of the care. Familiar visual cues including a bright yellow house, a green door, and a brick path help people orient to their space in a way that sterile institutional design never can. This is not a cosmetic project. It is a care strategy.
A Sample Day at Front Porch
No two days are exactly the same. That’s the point. But here’s a glimpse of a typical weekday to give you a feel for the rhythm and richness of life at Front Porch.
Dining: Where Every Day Starts Well
Our chef prepares three fresh, home-style meals every day using quality seasonal ingredients. Mealtimes are a centerpiece of community life, a time to gather, visit, and enjoy food that actually tastes like something your grandmother might have made.
Activities & Enrichment
We believe purpose and engagement are as important to health as medication. Our activities calendar is designed to stimulate mind, body, and spirit.
Amenities & Spaces
Thoughtfully designed spaces that feel like home, not a healthcare facility. Come see them for yourself.
