Community Director Transition

November 29th, 2022

Bowdon, GA: Front Porch of Bowdon announced today that Elizabeth Sprewell will be retiring and Cherie Fortson will be assuming the role of Community Director of Front Porch of Bowdon as of January, 1st 2023.

Elizabeth Sprewell, will be retiring and stepping down from her role as Community Director of Front Porch of Bowdon on January 1st, 2023. Elizabeth has devoted her personal and professional life to providing care to residents, leadership to staff, and comfort to family for over 12 years. Elizabeth’s mother was once a resident of the community, and she has even lived on-site since the height of the Covid pandemic to ensure continuity in resident care and operations. Additionally, on a personal note, she has been an invaluable resource to us during the ownership transition by providing us with her expertise and guidance, and it has been a pleasure working with her. We are incredibly grateful for her efforts and her dedication, and the community wouldn’t be here today without her.

While Elizabeth will be transitioning out of her full-time role and pursuing new adventures in retirement, she will continue to play an active role at Front Porch of Bowdon. As “Director Emeritus,” we look forward to her continued involvement at the community – after some much deserved rest and relaxation – and hope to further utilize her expertise as we continue to grow. We wish Elizabeth nothing but the best in her retirement, and she will always be welcomed member of the Front Porch of Bowdon family.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been diligently working to find our next Director. The priority was to find someone who could bring a similar level of dedication to residents, leadership to staff, and reassurance to families that Elizabeth has been providing for over a decade. After much deliberation and collaboration, we confidently say we have found that person. We would like to formally and enthusiastically announce that Cherie Fortson will be taking over the role of Community Director at Front Porch of Bowdon as of January 1st, 2023.

Cherie has also been a staple of the community for over a decade, and she has spent much of that time as a knowledgeable and supportive resident caregiver, and more recently as a Lead Caregiver. She provides exceptional care to our residents, a wealth of experience to other staff members, and confidence to families. She is a respected member of staff, is a trained CNA and Medica Assistant, and intimately knows the needs of our residents and the community in general. Quite honestly, we couldn’t think of anyone better to carry on Elizabeth’s torch. We are excited that she has accepted the role, and we look forward to working with her during the transition and for years to come to further our mission to care for those who need it and our vision to become the new gold standard in senior care.

With Gratitude,
Paul Kennedy, RN
